Milan played a mainly reserves and second team squad to play Club America, which featured a lot of bright talent from Mexico and a good chunk of it youth.

Milan lost 2-1 owing to two defensive lapses, one that Oneywu  could probably not have helped but will serve as a massive wake up call in terms of the quality of defending that is to be expected of him. Jankolovski was up against the Peter Crouch of Mexico some flagpole that never gave him a chance on the second one.

The defeat, a pre-season friendly and surely pointless from a win-lose significance point of view is the best time for a player that wants more time on the pitch to make a statement. Leonardo was really not very convinced with one player whom he felt was over age and beyond his prime. It’s this guy called Pippo Inzaghi. If you watch the video above, you’ll see that Pippo has other ideas when it comes to early retirement and its hard for me to understand how he managed to outpace two Club America defenders that have to be at least 10 years younger than him.

I could write a textbook or at least waste 20 to 30 minutes of your time describing that goal. Remember what I said about gauging the quality of a goal by the keepers reaction in that video. Outside of the right boot curled inside out past the keeper. There can only be one ladies and gentlemen, there can only be one Super Pippo.

Shut up, Leonardo!
