As it stands, Pakistan are due to be drawn with New Zealand, South Africa and England. Win two of those matches and they will be in the semis, where as we saw last time, anything could happen.

That’s a pretty decent draw. The first game is against England, who I think actually have a decent team. Their fast bowlers will trouble Pakistan, especially at Barbados, and with KP, Morgan and Collingwood, they have an excellent middle-order.

Prediction: England win

Pakistan’s second game will be against New Zealand. I don’t really know what to make of them. On paper, their batting looks better than it has for years – B. McCullum, Guptill, Ryder, Taylor and Styris are all dangerous and they have Vettori, Oram and N.McCullum lower down the order. However, I’m not sure about how they’ll play our spinners. Also, with Bond not being what he used to be, I think our batsmen can just about make enough runs to be competitive, even at Barbados.

Prediction: Too close to call

The final match is against South Africa are probably the best team in their group. However, in case we had forgotten, their ridiculous chase against India reminded us that they can play really stupidly at times. Also, Pakistan is due to play them at St Lucia which doesn’t really suit seam bowling and they also struggle against spinners.

Prediction: Pakistan win
